Randy Pippin is the Defensive Coordinator at East Texas Baptist University after directing the Glazier/Mega Football Coaching Clinics nationally for 3 years. Coach Pippin has enjoyed a 23 year coaching Career, 14 of those years as a successful Head Coach. Most recently he held the head coaching position at The Classical Academy in Colorado Springs for the 2010 season finishing 12th in the state in spite of being the smallest school in the classification. Prior to his Glazier assignment he was the Head Coach at Northwest Mississippi CC. Pippin led the Rangers to the MACJC north division championship in 2006, including a perfect 6-0 mark inside the division. Pippin’s Defense was rated #1 out of the 14 Team Mississippi League. He came to Northwest from Cottage Hill Baptist School System in Mobile, Ala., where he was Dean of Students and Athletic Director in 2004.

Under Pippin’s direction, the school initiated and completed numerous major projects including a new football stadium while winning state championships in basketball and cross country. As head coach at the University of West Alabama from 2001 through 2003, Pippin was recognized as the Small College Coach of the Year in Alabama in 2002 by The Birmingham News leading the team to the most wins in 10 years. Pippin coached numerous All-Gulf South Conference players in his three-year stint at the NCAA D-II University as well as two All Americans.

Before going to West Alabama, Pippin was the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Middle Georgia College from 1998 through 2000 where he produced two 10-win seasons and 2-Bowl champions. One of his players, Kendrell Bell, went on to become the NFL defensive rookie of the year. That 2000 team rated as the best Defense in the History of Junior College football.

Prior to his stint at Middle Georgia, he was the offensive coordinator at Tennessee Tech University for 1996 and 1997 where he coached the school’s all-time leader in total offense at the time. Pippin also initiated Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s Huddles at each institution that he coached. One of his most successful runs came as head coach at Trinity Valley Community College in Texas from 1993 through 1995. During his three years at the helm at Trinity Valley, Pippin led the Cardinals to a record of 24-8-2 and coached 19 All-Conference players and six All-Americans. One of which, Matt Bryant (Atlanta), has led the NFL in scoring and one, Al Harris (Green Bay), was a 2007 Pro Bowler. Pippin’s 1994 squad finished with a perfect record of 12-0 and maintained its No. 1 national ranking for the entire season. That season, Pippin was named NJCAA Coach of the Year for leading Trinity Valley to the NJCAA National Championship. Pippin served as defensive coordinator for three years from 1990 through 1993 at Trinity Valley before moving up to head coach.

Pippin’s first coaching stints came as Outside Linebacker Coacht at Middle Tennessee State University for 1988 through the OVC Championship in 1989, and as a defensive graduate assistant coach at Tennessee Tech for Current Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith from 1985 through 1987. After graduating from North Mesquite High School in Texas in 1981 and playing defensive end, Pippin was a standout running back at Cisco Junior College and Tennessee Tech University, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Pippin speaks nationally on “Implementing Character Qualities for Success” and Various XO Scheme Topics. Pippin Holds a Masters Degree in Health Education and is married to the former Sally Horton of Cookeville, Tennessee. They have three daughters—Natalie, Holly and Libby.

March 1, 2008 John M. Hendrick was named Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach. Prior to his arrival at USF he was Defensive Coordinator at South Carolina State University where his defense was ranked in the top ten nationally. Before South Carolina State he was the Head football Coach at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. During his four years at Benedict College his team had the only two winning seasons since revival of football at the institution in 1995. And his defenses were ranked in the top twenty nationally each of his four years. Prior to his tenure at Benedict he was an Assistant Coach at Mississippi State University where he built his collegiate coaching reputation on developing untested talent into perennially formidable State defensive lines; Hendrick proved to be an integral part of MSU’s rise to the nation’s leader in total defense and rushing defense in 1999. Under his guidance, MSU’s first line of defense allowed only 222.5 yards in opponent total offense and 66.9 yards of rushing offense by its foes. MSU’s defense led the Southeastern Conference in every category.

Along with twenty plus years of extensive coaching experience with football programs including the Philadelphia Eagles Football Club, Temple University; Kansas State University, Green Bay Packer Football Club, Louisiana State University, Texas A& M, Southern Univ6rsity, University of Pittsburgh, and Delaware State University. He also brings a wealth of knowledge in the recruiting arena, Hendrick has also coached on the offensive side of the football.

Hendrick brings a new attitude and plenty of charisma to the program; he states:” Football is an aggressive game, and defense needs to be played with an aggressive attitude, and great passion. We will emphasize fundamental football, unity, and a high pressure style of play. Along with teaching an attacking style of defense, we will also try and relate life lessons to them. Our goal is to use football as a tool to teach the athletes we coach; to be young men of excellence, and to engender in them the positive traits that lead to success.”

Coach Hendrick who is an ordained Minister, believes the most import aspect of man, is the spirit of man. He states “developing and nurturing the spiritual side of our young men is the most important thing we do, when it is all said and done the only thing that really matters is: what kind of men have they been trained to be”.

He and his wife, Katherine, have two children, Amber, and John Melvin.

Raised over $400,000 in funds and assets over three years while at a depleted inner-city football program from corporations in Denver, Colorado and private donations. Four Conference Championships. Certified in Coaching Clinics at Colorado University, University of Wyoming, Air Force Academy, University, University of Wyoming, Air Force Academy, Colorado State University and UNLV.

As a Player:
Signed in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, LA Rams and Arizona Wranglers (USFL). Played as a Division I College player at Colorado University and UNLV.
